Author spotlight

I have many favorite authors. Some will forever have a special place in my heart. It could be one book they wrote or several series. Either way I always want to show love to the authors who made me cry, laugh, scream, contemplate the universe or just plain old drove me wild.

All the pics will lead to the author’s website (if they have one!)

(I am slowly but surely adding my faves! So this list will grow over time.)

Victoria M. Patton. Author of the Damien Kaine series and the Derek Reed series.

Both of those series are absolute favorites of mine. Damien Kaine is a thriller a la police procedural. Derek Reed is the same but with the addition of the paranormal. The character growth is top notch here.

A. J. Vrana. Author of The Chaos Cycle Duology and it’s upcoming companion novel, Wildblood.

The Chaos Cycle duology (The Hollow Gods, The Echoed Realm) is a folklore inspired contemporary dark fantasy. Think magic realism. Wildblood is a dark, urban fantasy noir.

A. J. has yet to give me nothing but the absolute best storytelling.

Sylvester Barzey. Author of the Planet Dead series and Generation Slayer series (and several more!).

I love horror. Minus one…zombie horror. And these days zombies know parkour. So I don’t read it or watch it. And yet I love Sylvester’s Planet Dead series. I can’t get enough of his writing. He sucks me in right from the beginning and never lets up.

Samara Breger. Author of A Long Time Dead.

I found Samara’s book while on a quest to have more sapphic books in my life. In my quest I came across A Long Time Dead. Sapphic, gothic vampire romance. That alone grabbed all of my attention. And then I read the book. It was like experiencing true love for the first time. I’ve been reading my whole life and this book is easily in my top five favorites of all time. Which is saying something.

In my search for more sapphic romances, I realized I hadn’t really come across any sapphic DARK romances….and Sarah James came to my rescue. Seeds of Sorrow quickly became a favorite and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store.
